Island Peak Climbing is famous after its name ISLAND PEAK or IMJA TSE according to its appearance as a set floating in the ocean of ice surrounding the Himalayan peaks. Island Peak Climbing was given the name by the team of Eric Shipton in 1953 for its appearance. This Island peak lies between Mt. Ama Dablam and Mt. Lhotse on the top of the Chhukung glacier. The Island Peak Climbing start with trekking towards the Everest Base Camp. Island Peak Climbing is gaining its popularity among novice climbers and experienced trekkers.. 15 Days Island Peak Climbing with Trekking Trail

Island Peak Climbing commences from the Airport at Lukla to Island peak with the same route to the classical Everest Base Camp Trekking trail till Dingboche. We will check all the gear and pieces of equipment before starting our trek. The group leader is well-trained, well-experienced, and capable of leading the trek and handling any kind of emergencies or mishaps during the trek. Oxygen and medical first aid box to be re-checked. The rocky ridges and the steps lead to the summit of the Island peak at a height of 6189 meters. We will pass through the amazing glacial moraines (Imja and Lhotse), colorful monasteries with prayer flags and prayer inscribed stones, the forests full of rare floras and faunas and birds. The best times for Island peak climbing is during mid-March-May (Spring) and mid-September-November (Autumn) but the trek can be planned anytime of the year.

Itinerary

Day
1

Arrival in Kathmandu and we take you to the hotel in Kathmandu and provided you the all details of trip.

Arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport is welcomed by the representative of Trekking Trail Nepal and then the guests will be escorted to the designated hotel. We will brief the program of Island Peak Climbing with Trekking Trail Nepal at the hotel. Thus the Day 1 Itinerary of Island Peak Climbing concludes. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Itinerary of day 2 of Island Peak Climbing starts with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight is a little scary but exciting to the Most Dangerous Airport of The World named as Lukla Airport. Which is the starting point of Most of the trekking in the Khumbu Region, Including world renowned Everest Base Camp Trek? The actual Trekking to Island Peak Climbing start after Lukla. We will walk for a short distance to Chaurikharka village and then slowly walk down towards the Dudh Koshi valley and finally to Phakding village following the Trekking Trail of Dudh Koshi river. Our First day of Trekking to Island Peak Climbing ends at Phakding following the same trekking trail to Everest Base Camp.

We will start our trek early morning from Phakding for Namche Bazaar following the trail of Dudh Koshi River and pass through the pine forest and the Jorsalle village and finally to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay at the lodge of Namche as Itinerary.

First Acclimatization day for further trekking in Namche Bazaar so the trip will not be hampered due to the altitude sickness, alterations in weather, etc. We can spend the rest of the day wandering around the villages near Namche Bazaar. We can visit the local shops and get some necessary types of equipment if needed.

We will slowly climb up from Namche Bazaar enjoying the scenic view of the Himalayan peaks and finally reach Tengboche. We can visit the Tengboche Monastery and its premise. Overnight stay at a lodge.

We will start our trek from Tengboche passing through the Rhododendron forest crossing the Imja Khola River. After reaching Pangboche, we will gradually hike up to the Pangboche monastery and then walkiing for sometime will lead to Dingboche. Overnight stay in the lodge.

We trek to Chhukung valley passing through the glacier rocks having the amazing views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, etc. Before reaching the Bibre village, we can have a glimpse of Island Peak. Then after walking for some time from Bibre village, we finally arrive at Chhukung and spend overnight here.

We will head to Island Peak Base Camp first towards the south and then ascending towards the east of the valley. We will then walk towards the southeast following the trail of the stream viewing the amazing scene of Mt. Amphu Lapsa. We will then pass through the Imja glacier and Lhotse glacier.

We will do the pre-climb training in Island Base Camp so that we will be familiarizing about the equipments and gears to be used during the ascent. We will hike around the base camp.

Today we will start our early morning climb from the Island Peak base camp and slowly climb up the hills. The path will become narrower and rockier as the trail heads to the summit walking pass through the snow-filled path. Crossing the crevasses, the summit commences. After reaching the summit, the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains mesmerizes the trekkers. After resting for some time, we will climb down slowly to the Base camp following the same trail and stay overnight. Most difficult and Happiest day of Island Peak Climbing Itinerary.

We will follow the same trail back to Tengboche passing through Pangboche, and Dingboche the Shomare villages. There is the oldest Gompa in Khumbu region on the way to Pangboche village. We can see the Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam. Mt. Thamserku, etc after reaching Pangboche.

We will trek down Phakding crossing Namche Bazaar. We will be passing the Rhododendron and Pine forests to reach Tengboche and crossing the Dudh Koshi River descending to Sansa. After walking for a while from Sansa, we will arrive at Namche Bazaar to spend overnight.

We will trek down from Namche Bazaar following through the Monjo to Lukla consisting of short trekking. We will hike up to Lukla slowly and spend overnight here.

We will take the flight back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we will take you to the hotel and rest for the day. If you wish, we can roam around Thamel or nearby places in Kathmandu. We can also go for shopping. Thus Island Peak Climbing and Trekking Itinerary concludes.

We will escort you to the Tribhuwan International Airport at least 3 hours prior the scheduled flight. Our representative of Trekking Trail Nepal will drop you to the airport.
