Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu and we take you to the hotel in Kathmandu and provided you the all details of trip.

Buddhist Heritage Tour Itinerary starts after your arrival in Kathmandu today. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, we will be there to pick you up and transfer you to a hotel.

Once you reach and check into a hotel in tourist hub of Thamel, You can choose the best things to do. Eat, Sleep, revitalized with spa, Message and Sauna, Drink and Dance or Shopping in the streets of Thamel.

Touristic atmosphere of Thamel and walking streets of Thamel will make you tiring flight vanish from your Mind. You can take some wanderings around. We will be giving you some guidance on how to do that if you feel the need of.
Later in the evening, we will have trip briefing session. We will let you know the time of meeting on your arrival.

Day 2 Guided sightseeing of Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Monkey temple and Boudhanath Stupa.

It is a full exploration day in Kathmandu. We take you for a cultural sightseeing tour of Heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley. We go for an in-depth and guided tour of Swoyambhunath – the ancient most Buddhist stupa in Kathmandu valley; Patan Durbar Square – one of the medieval palace squares in the valley; Pashupatinath - the most important Hindu temple premises with Hindu cremation site; and Boudhanath – the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world.

Day 3 A full day guided tour to Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changunarayan.

On the third day Itinerary of Buddhist Heritage Tour, we are going to take you for a pure cultural tour of the medieval town of Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is a traditional Newari town with medieval architectures. The richness of the town in Newari culture and simplicity of lifestyle of people living there make the time memorable. After touring Bhaktapur, we also go to explore Changu Narayan – another cultural heritage site in Kathmandu valley. We will learn about local life, symbolism in artworks and spiritual significance of the place. Later, we drive to Dhulikhel, more or less half hour, to stay overnight.

Day 4 Very special visit to Namo Buddha, with overnight stay in Dhulikhel.

Enjoy the view of early morning sunrise and spectacular Himalayan range from Dhulikhel. Drive to Namo Buddha later after breakfast to explore the magnificence of the monastery there and the natural surroundings. Spiritual vibrations in the monastery and peaceful environment of the surrounding nature are what make our day wonderful today. Day 5 Pay a visit to Pharping and monasteries, outside the Kathmandu Valley

Our plan for the day is to drive to Pharping for a day exploration of the place. Pharping lies 21 kilometers south of Kathmandu and is a prominent spiritual site for Buddhists and Hindus both. We explore a monastery with an ancient cave where Guru Padmasamvabha meditated in the ancient time before travelling to Tibet to found Buddhism there. Spend peaceful moments in the monastery and later head to other spiritual sites and natural surroundings to enjoy the wonders there. After immersing into the spiritual, local life and natural wonders of Pharping for a day, we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 6 Drive to Lumbini, and stay in hotel with bed and breakfast.

On the 6th day of Buddhist Heritage Tour, we are driving to Lumbini, the birth place of Buddha. The drive will take us 260 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu in more or less 8 hours of highway drive. Although the drive is almost whole day long, it will allow you to enjoy the Nepalese country side from middle hills to the southern plain. We drive past different towns and cities through beautiful and scenic surroundings. Once we reach Lumbini, we take some easy time to ease ourselves of the long drive tiredness.

Day 7 A full day sightseeing in Lumbini

We get ready for a wonderful and full day exploration of the birth place of Buddha. It is a great spiritual pilgrimage to the place where the founder of Buddhism was born in. We first head to the Sacred Garden and Mayadevi Temple to pay homage to the Buddha. This is the place where the Shakyamuni Buddha breathed his first earthly air. We visit the temple and pray. Later, we can sit peacefully on meditation in the Sacred Garden by the Pushkarini – the sacred pond. After spending quality time in the Sacred Garden, we set out on the exploration of the Lumbini monastic zone. Monasteries from different countries around the world enlighten us about different Buddhist traditions in practice in the world. We pay sacred visits to World Peace Flame, World Peace Stupa and other wonderful and sacred sites in the zone. It is a day full of spiritual and historical exploration about Buddha, his life and his teachings. Itinerary of day 7 of Buddhist Heritage Tour takes you near to the inner peace, enlightenment and spiritual as Lord Buddha.

Day 8 Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

After spending an amazing day in the birth place of Buddha, we are returning back to Kathmandu today. We drive back the same highway that we took to go to Lumbini. We will drop you off to the hotel and you can enjoy some time at leisure wandering around.

Day 9 Transfer to airport, Buddhist Heritage Tour Itinerary in Nepal comes to end.
